REP CITY CLINIC DESCRIPTIONS
REP CITY is a CLINIC SERIES that is great for parents and teams that want to develop well-rounded players that can play multiple positions and perform fundamental (basic) skills that are needed to play at the highest level.
5TPA feels that these basic skills need to be developed at a young age, before entering High School. As a High School Coach, Coach Doug spent too much of the team’s practice time teaching these skills to Freshman players. High School coaches get frustrated when they have to teach these skills to Freshman players. High School coaches want to teach advanced level skills so that the team can advance their skill and win games. Please allow your player to Learn, Perfect, and Maintain these skills now, before entering High School.
These Position-specific Clinics, Hitting Clinics, and Essential Skills Clinics are designed to provide your player with reps, reps, and more reps in a fun, group instruction, practice environment to Learn, Perfect, and Maintain the necessary skills to perform at the highest level. Most Clinics are for baseball and softball players ages 7 and up. Some Essential Skills Clinics are for baseball players ages 9 and up. 5TPA recommends that your player attend all of the REP CITY Clinics at least once to get exposed to all of the skills, but 5TPA recommends repeating the 2-hr Clinics as many times as possible before your player enters High School and repeating the 1-hr Clinics at least 2 times.

1-hr Essential Skills Clinics
The Base-running, Bunting, Sliding/Diving, and Throwing Clinics are for baseball and softball players (League Age 7 and up). The Lead-offs and Pick-offs Clinics are for baseball players only (PONY and Travel Ball players League Age 9 and up; Little League players League Age 13 and up; High School players).
Base-running; Learn the proper way to run to and around the bases. “To”, “Through”, and “Rounding” bases are essential elements to proper base-running so that your player can quickly get from one base to another and score more runs.
Bunting; Learn how to do the proper footwork and bat angle to perform these different types of bunts: sacrifice bunt, bunt for a base hit (drag bunt or push bunt), and squeeze play. This Clinic will increase confidence in not only bunting the ball, but it will help with the precision of where to place the bunt in certain situations.
Hit-by-Pitch; It takes a lot of courage to get hit by the pitch. By using whiffle balls, your player will safely learn the proper way to “get hit” while gaining confidence in the box to “get hits”. Getting hit-by-pitch will increase On Base Percentage and help your player’s team score more runs.
Lead-offs; Learn the proper way to “Lead-off” from each base with a “Primary Lead” and “Secondary Lead”. These “Leads” will add to your player’s base-running skills so that he may get good Leads and steal bases. Your player will also learn to “Dive back” into bases on Pick-offs.
Pick-offs; Learn the proper way to perform a pitcher “Pick-off Move” to each base. By using these “Moves”, your player may be able to keep the runners close to the base to deter them from stealing bases. If the runners don’t get back to the base in time, they will get “picked-off”. Your player will also learn how to “Step-off” the Pitcher’s Plate without balking.
Sliding/Diving; Learn how to slide and dive into bases and also how to catch groundballs and flyballs. This Clinic will increase confidence and aggressiveness while running the bases and playing defense in the field. After learning these skills, your player will end up on the highlight reel by making a great slide into the base and with some amazing diving plays on defense.
Throwing; Learn the proper movements of how to throw the ball properly. With the proper throwing movements, your player will help avoid injury along with increasing throwing efficiency, accuracy, and velocity from positions on the field. For baseball, this Clinic will also help with your throwing movements as a pitcher.
